Rivertrip and beer at the weir
Because we can!
After a successful trial where our guests expressed they felt safe and socially distanced from non-household members, we are excited to be offering rivertrips again!
For those of you that have known WhatSUP for some time, you have probably been missing our rivertrips and 'paddle to the pub' just as much as we have... Well the pubs are not open yet, but we can bring a few beers, so we can enjoy a few moments alongside the river with a beer, and paddle back as the sun sets. What is not to like?
Because river trips are open to people who do not live together, we need to maintain social distancing and will only accept ages 15+. If anyone brings a teenager under 18 then please give us a heads up so we can bring a can of coke instead (sorry teenagers of North Somerset).

What to expect?
The duration of rivertrips will vary a little, this depends on previous paddle experience of our guests, flow of the river on the day, wind strength and how much of a break the group would like. We expect them to be 2-and-a-half hours on average, and the cost is £30 per person.
You do not need to be an experienced paddler - our instructors are able to give everyone confidence and teach you the basics to get going, and can give you more hints and tips along the way if you would like this.
We provide the equipment needed: board, paddle and a life jacket. Wetsuits cannot be disinfected easily, and they are generally not needed, so they are not provided. If you have a wetsuit, you can choose to wear that. Most people just wear clothing they are comfortable in. You're not likely to fall in but it is always a possibility so it might be a good idea to bring a change of dry clothes and towel for when you return to your car.
If you join us for a rivertrip on Pilhay farm, we ask you to be respectful for the land owners that kindly are letting us use access to the river. Please maintain an 10mph speed limit on the track towards the farm and river, park by the side of the derelict building to maintain easy access to the (working) farm, and keep any noise down after 9pm. Thank you, and we hope to see you soon on the water!

How to book?
If the weather is good and we are running a rivertrip, we will post about it on our Facebook page. From there, you can hit the 'book now' button to book, or the same button on this site. You may then have to select the location of the rivertrip you are trying to book (this will have been announced on the Facebook post), and after selecting the location you can see the available dates. If you are booking at Pilhay Farm, this location is also used for Household/'bubble' sessions in the daytimes, so for booking a rivertrip there just scroll down past the household sessions to book your rivertrip.
If you are looking to book a larger group (up to 10 people to paddle at the same time) please contact us directly.
Cheers! See you all soon!
